Staffordshire Fire and Rescue is reminding residents to take extra care in the kitchen after crews were called out to a fire in Burslem.
Crews from Burslem and Sandyford attended a property in Jenkins Street at around 7.10pm on October 20 following reports of a fire on an electric cooker. It is also believed they found a pot with oil on the cooker.
Thankfully, there were no casualties and the fire was extinguished.
Andy Poyser, Crew Manager at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said: “Incidents like these are relatively commonplace in the home and are known to have serious consequences.
“We want to remind people to take extra care when in the kitchen and prevent incidents like this from happening in the first place.”
