Crews rescue dog in deliberate house fire

Firefighters worked to extinguish a deliberate house fire in Newcastle-under-Lyme, this weekend.

Crews from Kidsgrove and Sandyford attended a residential address near Mount Road Kidsgrove, at 1.38pm on Saturday (26 March).

A small dog was rescued from the smoke-logged property by crews. 

Two breathing apparatus were used alongside a jet to extinguish the blaze at 1.58pm.

No-one was injured.

The cause was later deemed to be deliberate ignition, where Staffordshire Police are currently investigating.
