Fire crews tackle canal boat fire

We were called to a report of a canal boat fire near Dallow Lock in Burton-upon-Trent at 2.10am this morning (14 October).

Firefighters from Burton and Tamworth attended and used breathing apparatus and a main jet to put the fire out.

A water rescue crew was also sent from Tamworth to assist.

No one was in the canal boat at the time of the fire and no one was reported injured.

An investigation to establish the cause is underway with colleagues from Staffordshire Police.
