Firefighters help drivers stuck in flood water

We have helped to rescue two drivers who were stuck in flood water in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Just after 9.45am this morning (6 December), we sent crews from Burslem and Hanley to Blackbank Road, Knutton. Two vehicles had become stuck in flood water which was about three feet deep.

Our colleagues from Staffordshire Police closed the road whilst we helped the drivers out of their vehicles. They were not injured.

Crews left the scene just before 11am and the incident has been left with Highways.
