Woman rescued from River Stour in Kinver after getting stranded trying to rescue dog

We were called out to an incident where a woman had become stranded in a shallow section of a river in Kinver yesterday evening (Wednesday February 24).

The woman was stranded holding onto undergrowth in the River Stour off Brockleys Walk at about 5.35pm and a crew from Kinver was dispatched to the scene.

The woman was out of the water by 5.55pm and so a Water Rescue crew from Tamworth were not needed.

The woman had been trying to rescue her dog, who thankfully was okay. The woman declined medical treatment.
